Take off - Saludos amigos!!

30 August 2019

Another departure. A sadder one this time. After spending 1 months side by side with our parents, for the wedding preparation, the separation is even harder than usual. But the excitement is not less than that! We can’t wait to live all the experiences that South America will bring us. We are a bit worried about criminality and thefts, but we hope that all the measures we put in place will be enough to prevent our passports to be stolen: the only scenario that would force us to go back home.

The trip has started with two days in Barcelona, for a soft begin into the latin lifestyle. Among all the attractions in this vibrant city, the Sagrada Familia and a Flamenco Show, were the two absolute highlights. The former was not a surprise, since it’s notoriously the spot everyone visits; nevertheless gave us some goosebumps when we entered the nativity door. The latter, instead, was something unexpected for me. The setting was wonderful, in an old aristocratic house, and, on the same note, the music and the show were brilliant. So passional and full of erotic tension that was hard not to stand up and start to dance with them. Luckily for the audience, this didn’t happen. It would have been a ridiculous performance. The culinary scene was also brilliant with delicious tapas, a mind-blowing sea and mountain Paella and a jag of refreshing Sangria. But the big surprise was the pacharan, a fruity digestive that was amazing! We asked ourselves many times in these 2 days if we could live in Barcelona, but we couldn’t find an answer. But let’s not think about what the future might look like and let’s focus on the present: our journey to Colombia, where the trip will kick off. Hola amigos!
